New Horizons' Toastmaster Club Presents First Public Speeches
New Horizons Toastmaster Club
presented their first public speeches on Tuesday, June 15
at "Toastmasters Presents", held in Sam's Café
at New Horizons. The members of the club, 20 clients who have been
meeting weekly since April, each presented their speech to a crowd of over 70
people attending the event.
Special guests included several Toastmaster officials: including Scott Miller, District 52 Governor
2009-2010; Diana Offen, Incoming District 52 Governor 2010-2011;
Carolyn Goldman, incoming Lt. Governor Education and Training
2010-2011; Dick Bonner, District 52 Area C32 Governor 2009-2010 and
Vernail Caldwell, a member of the Northridge Toastmasters Club and
Michael Spagna, the CSUN Dean of Education, New
Horizons Board Members, family members, friends and
staff.
Board Member Spero Bowman, who initiated the club, summed up
the evening by saying, "Didn't they all do a terrific job?" Yes, they did.
